The Three Home Business
Success Principles

I touched on these principles in the previous section, yet they are so important to your success that they warrant repeating. Working from home - I mean really thriving and produce a living wage - happens when you follow these three principles:
(continued below...)

1. Educate Yourself

You are unique. There is no one else who has an exact copy of the life experiences you have that brought you to this moment in time.

I don't care who you are, or what you've been doing... with 6 billion people on this planet, there is a target group of people out there who want to know what you know, or can use what you produce.

Given our current level of technology, and our ability to communicate with anybody in nano-seconds, there really is no reason not to profit from your uniqueness.

While there may be some things which are not marketable (a little research weeds out the flops), success is primarily a matter of how you package and present yourself, your product, or your service.

All you must do is build upon what you know and apply it within a comprehensive business model.

For example, perhaps you have lost 20 pounds on a diet of easily prepared, yummy dishes. How many folks out there want to lose weight and like yummy dishes?

Lots.

Do you know how to write a book? Do you know how to create a marketable book? Do you know how to create interest in a book?

So, you must educate yourself in the areas of your business where you fall short.

Understand what people want, how and where they go to find what they want, and the triggers that create a response to buy what they want.

Inevitably, this will require that you utilize the power of the Internet to the fullest. Educate yourself on how to create a site that people trust and will buy from. Then utilize marketing techniques that will bring qualified buyers to your site.

All endeavors require that you connect with people. The Internet is arguably the most important tool for reaching out to others. Therefore, you must understand the full power of your computer and how to make it work for you.

It's an overworked cliche, but knowledge is indeed power. And within your business, knowledge translates into income.

2. Build Relationships

You'll find success is a shorter path when you build relationships with those who can help you succeed. In the beginning you may feel you can do everything associated with your business by yourself. Ultimately, this is a recipe for snail-paced growth or even stagnation.

Build relationships with your customers, companies, and experts who can help you climb higher. Outsource tasks which don't directly contribute to your creative output. Use services that automate routine aspects of running your business. Partner with professionals who can lift you further than you could on your own.

If you were a mountain climber, you wouldn't try to reach the peak of Mt. Everest alone. You reach the top with a team of people who have the same goal as you.

3. Work Hard... Work Smart

Success comes when you work hard. Especially in the beginning. As you become an expert in your field, you then discover how to work smarter instead of harder.

Work hard now to lay a foundation which will attract money. This will naturally cause you to see how to work smarter. Money comes more easily to those who work smart.

The time it takes for you to succeed - to begin earning money - is entirely up to you. If you are aggressive about learning new skills and applying the tools available to you, then you will earn money in the shortest time possible.

You don't get rich by accident, nor as a general rule does it happen quickly. It happens on purpose when you apply what you know. This is how you create money.

A business is built by offering real products or services that people actually need and really do use. Apply your knowledge to help people get what they need - even if they don't know they need it yet. This is the hallmark of success.
